Windy City Sports Report – 2/4/13

“It’s not the will to win that matters—everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.” –Bear Bryant

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with your Windy City Sports Report. In this edition, the Bulls keep rolling; the Blackhawks try to stay undefeated.

Things are getting very interesting at the Madhouse at Madison. The Bulls are making the league take notice of them. It seems like it does not matter who inserted into the lineup, Coach Tom Thibodeau is going to have them play with intensity and have them play tough defense. No Rose, no problem. No Deng, no problem. No Boozer, no problem. No Boozer, Noah, or Hinrich, no problem.

Windy City Sports Report – 1/28/13

“Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.” –John Wooden

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with the latest issue of the Windy City Sports Report. In this edition, the Bulls are on a roll and the Blackhawks are so scorching they are melting the ice.

This has been an intriguing season for the Bulls. Not much was expected of them at the start, since they were without former MVP Derrick Rose. They started out a bit shaky but are now the surprise of the NBA and are on a nice roll as his return nears. They had four games last week, and they went 3-1. Read the rest of this entry »

“The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That’s real glory.” -Vince Lombardi

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with your Windy City Sports Report. In this edition, the Bulls keep rolling; the Bears get their man; we finally have hockey.

The return of Derrick Rose is near, but the Bulls are too busy winning games to be concerned about that. They had four games this week, trying to gain on the Central-leading Indiana Pacers. They played the overtime game this week, having three of them in a row. Read the rest of this entry »

If winning isn’t everything, why do they keep score? -Vince Lombardi

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with the latest Windy City Sports Report. In this edition, the Bulls ride a topsy turvy wave; Bears are still looking for a coach; finally we will have hockey!

The Bulls started out their week playing the Cleveland Cavaliers at the United Center. As has been the case this season, they played down to their competition. They found themselves down by 10 early on, but straightened themselves and pulled away in a 118-92 rout. Read the rest of this entry »

Windy City Sports Report – 1/7/13

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with the first Windy City Sports Report for 2013. In this edition – who will be the Bears’ next coach? The Bulls beat WHO and lost to WHOM? Is hockey really coming back?

Well, Saturday was the Wild Card round in the NFL playoffs. The Bears were prepping for…oh wait, that did not happen, did it?

Nope, it did not happen. The Minnesota Vikings beat the Packers (yet another reason to hate the Packers) to grab the last spot in the NFC playoff bracket. Instead of traveling to San Francisco to face the 49ers, Lovie Smith got his traveling papers out of Chicago.

Windy City Sports Report – 12/31/12

Hello sports fans, Carlos here with your final Windy City Sports Report of 2012. In this edition, what happened at Halas Hall, the Bulls move steady, and can we just forget hockey?

Well, after a 7-1 start, the Bears went 2-5 in their last 7 games and put themselves in a situation where they had a must-win game AND needed help from their enemies, the Green Bay Packers. One of the two scenarios happened, as the Bears beat the Pussycats, err Lions, in Detroit 26-24. Read the rest of this entry »

Coaches Corner – 12/26/12

My two minute warning

I can never support a player that beats his own mother but Dez Bryant is playing like a super star over the last month of the season. If Bryant beat his mom the way he’s beating opposing defenses, he belongs in prison and the Pro Bowl!!

If Mark Sanchez told Rex Ryan that since he wasn’t starting he didn’t want to be included in any snaps or special packages, he would have been crucified. But Tim Tebow quits on his team and basically gets a pass from the general public.
