Coaches Corner – 11/29/12

My 2 minute warning

I can’t keep up with the conference shuffling! Who knew San Diego State was now in the Big East?

What’s going to happen when Rutgers and Kent State are in the BCS this year? Can’t we just have a playoff once and for all?

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports – 11/7/12

by Steve Farace

Don’t you just hate being sick? My immune system has been attacked and I’m suffering right now. You know what I’m talking about. It starts with a sore throat and then you get stuffy all over – starts in your nose and then takes up your entire head. I don’t get sick too often, but when I do I always feel like I’m on my death-bed. Ah, the perks of having a nurse as a wife! I got the hook-up on some antibiotics and I should be on the road to recovery in no time! Damn things better hurry up and work, I’ve got a podcast to do tomorrow! Gotta love the cheap plug!

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports – 10/10/12

I found out today while speaking to Scott that there are now pumpkin pop tarts. I’m not sure what is going on in this country, but there is a pumpkin craze taking over. I mean we already have the pumpkin spice coffee at Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks, but now we have Hershey’s Kisses and pop tarts flavored with pumpkin? It’s all out of control! This coming week I will be facing Scott in one of my leagues – I will let you know how badly I beat him by in next weeks Hump Day article. Let’s hop to it! Read the rest of this entry »

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports – 6/6/12

by Steve Farace

I was on my way home today and there was an especially long line of traffic getting on to the highway. Traffic is especially frustrating after you have spent 8 hours at work and you are READY to get home. As I get closer I can see the lights flashing and I know something has happened. Getting even closer I realized that there was a truck that had overturned along the round-a-bout to get onto the highway. When will truck drivers learn that they are not driving a Honda Civic around those turns? If you take them as if you are driving a Civic then it is likely you will lose control and flip over. I write about this knowing that the driver is OK, although he should be forced to pass a driving test again.
