Windy City Sports Report – 10/8/12


 

Hello again sports fans, Carlos here giving you the latest Windy City Sports Report. In today’s edition, did the White Sox hang onto the division lead? Are the Cubs 100-game losers? Are the Bears still in first place? Will the Blackhawks ever play this season?

First up are the White Sox. After leading the division for most of the season, the Sox found themselves losing 11 of 13 down the stretch and were looking up at the Detroit Tigers. With the final 3 games on deck, they were 3 games behind, which meant they had to sweep their last series in Cleveland against the Indians while the Tigers had to get swept by the Royals in Kansas City.

Windy City Sports Report – 10/1/12


Hello sports fans, Carlos here for the latest Windy City Report. In this edition, do the White Sox keep a grasp on the division lead? Is the Cubs’ misery over? How are the Monsters of the Midway Bears doing?

When the week started the Sox were hanging on tenuously to the AL Central lead by one game over the Detroit Tigers. Things looked good for Chicago. They had seven games, but all of them were at home. Then they actually had to play the games.

It started out well in the opener against the Cleveland Indians. Adam Dunn hit two homers, including a 3-run shot in the eighth inning to give the Sox a come from behind victory 5-4.

Windy City Sports Report – 9/17/12


Hello sports fans, here is your Windy City Sports Report for this week. In today’s issue, how is the White Sox playoff push going? Are the youngsters playing the role of spoilers? How did the Bears face in their rivalry game against the Packers?

Windy City Sports Report – 9/10/12


Hello sports fans, Carlos here giving you the latest Windy City Sports Report. In today’s report, did the White Sox keep a hold of first place? How are the kids progressing for the Cubs? How did the Bears do on their season opener?

Well, it was going to be an interesting week for the Sox. After stumbling a bit the previous week, they found their lead in the AL Central disappeared. Windy City Sports Report – 8/20/12


Hello sports fans, welcome to the latest Windy City Sports Report. In today’s spot, do the White Sox still have a hold of first place? How are the Cubs’ kids faring? How are the Bears looking so far in the preseason?

The Sox opened the week with a 2 game lead in the AL Central over the Detroit Tigers. They had a 4 game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. They dropped a tough opening game 3-2 in extra innings. Starter Jake Peavy pitched well, allowing only 2 runs over 8 innings, but could only get a no-decision. The only offense for the Sox was Adam Dunn, who hit 2 solo home runs.
