Let the Off Season Begin for Eagles

By George Remaily

When the New York Giants walked off the field after winning their second Super Bowl title in four years, the Philadelphia Eagles off season officially begun. If it had not already begun after their season ending victory of the Washington Redskins which ended a disappointing season at 8-8. Now the important work begins for the organization to get this team to the position they want to be and that is winning the Super Bowl.

Eagles Fan: Eli is Elite

by George Remailly

As a Philadelphia Eagles fan as I am and like others out there I really wanted like many Eagles fans to pull my hair out.  Watching the New York Giants win their second Super Bowl in four years at first just made me want to scream.  As time went by and I watched the many Giants fans around me celebrating their teams win, I realized why they have won another Super Bowl Championship.

The bottom line in all team sports is you need a true leader.  A leader who leads by example and puts the team on his shoulders when he needs to.  The New York Giants have that leader in quarterback Eli Manning.  It is amazing that throughout the season many fans of the Giants would yell different things out about their quarterback.  Many did not want Eli as their quarterback.

Sixers Play Tough Defense And Defeat The Magic

By George Remaily

The Sixers did not play their best game of the season but their defense was the difference in the game.  The Sixers on Monday night were playing in the middle of a three game stretch against the top teams in the Eastern Conference.  The Sixers in front of a crowd of 16,299 at the Wells Fargo Center defeated the Orlando Magic, 74-69 and showed the fans and the media that they are to be taken for real as a team.

The Sixers did not have one of their better nights on the offensive side of the ball but they did play excellent defense on the night.  In fact the Sixers point total on Monday night was their lowest they have point up all season.  Even so the team still found a way to win the game and if you are a good team you do find a way to win a game when you are not playing your best game.  The Sixers field goal percentage on the night was 37.5 percent.  They shot 30 for 80 not a great percentage by any means.  The Sixers moved their record to 15-6 on the season, which leads the Atlantic Division.

The Legend of Penn State Dies

By George Remaily

We grow up watching someone from our childhood to our adult life and we just picture that person is going to live forever. We all know that is not true and that eventually everyone must pass. On Sunday morning former Penn State Head Football Coach Joe Paterno passed away from complications from lung cancer. He was 85. It was just a few months after he was fired as Head Coach because of a sex scandal and criminal charges filled against former assistant and friend Jerry Sandusky.

Where do the Philadephia Eagles Stand?

By George Remaily

Sunday in the NFL was Championship Sunday. We found out who the two teams would be in the Super Bowl to be played in Indianapolis on Sunday evening on February 5, 2012. In the AFC Championship the New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens 23-20 and in the NFC Championship the New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 in overtime. It will be the rematch of the 2008 Super Bowl, New York Giants against the New England Patriots.

Watching both of these games and being a Philadelphia Eagles fan it went through my mind, where do the Philadelphia Eagles stand compared to these four teams. Going into this season there was so much expectations for the Eagles. Most experts had picked the Eagles to end up in the Super Bowl. As we all know that promising season ended with no playoff appearance. Are the Philadelphia Eagles as good as these four teams that played on Championship Sunday?
