Hump Day Thoughts on Sports

by Steve Farace

Ah, it’s that time of the week again! Hump Day! We’ve had a lot going on with the site lately and HOPEFULLY it should be done soon. We have our fingers crossed (although it is really hard to type with your fingers crossed). I’m ready! Let’s go!

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff – 1/23/13

by Steve Farace

Hey all – welcome to another Hump Day! Hope your week is going well so far. Just a random thought to throw out there – MLB Network does a great job with these recaps of past seasons. Let’s get to it!

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff – 1/16/13

by Steve Farace

Hey all – did ya miss me since last week? No? You don’t have to be so direct. Anyway, I am back again for another hump day potpourri. Here we go!

Why does everyone seem to open up to Oprah? What is it about her? The latest was Lance Armstrong. He apparently has come clean about being on performance enhancing drugs. What is it with these people? Do they not think they are going to get caught? I think it’s absurd. Not only are they cheaters, but they are thieves as well. They have stolen money by using a fake body and fake conditioning. Listen, to me cycling is not a sport – it is simply what people do for recreation – sorry to offend anyone, but this is my article. The man made a ton of money during his career and now we are finding out that he has done even worse. He has basically stomped on all of the people who knew about what he was doing. People tried to step in and he actually sued people because of the “outrageous allegations”. Are you kidding me?? Wow…just wow. I can’t wait to see all of the repercussions.

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff – 1/9/13

by Steve Farace

Ah – my very first entry of 2013 and we have TONS to get to. Here we go!

First of all – Mr. Musburger, you should be ASHAMED of yours– haha – I couldn’t do it. Are you kidding me? ESPN releases an apology to Katherine Webb (girlfriend of a certain national champion QB from Alabama) because Brent Musburger said that she was beautiful on air and that all of the college QB’s get pretty girlfriends? Is that some kind of late breaking news that wasn’t supposed to be leaked? I mean, seriously now, what did he do wrong?? It was a good job by Katherine Webb to say that there was no apology needed. What the hell is the world coming to.

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff – 12/20/12

Hey everyone – Steve here. This was all set to go up yesterday (Hump Day), but apparently a greater power didn’t want it to go live. So, here we are with a Hump Day article being posted on a Thursday. What can ya do?

So, I’m gone for a couple of weeks and Scott renames my article to include “stuff”. I see how it is! Actually, I like it a lot. It gives me a little more room to maneuver for the tremendously successful weekly article. Of course when I say tremendously successful, I’m speaking about the 7 or 8 people who read it every week. Thanks again to you guys and we hope to get it to 10 this week.

Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff -Apocolypse Edition – 12/12/12

by Scott Peterson

Hello everyone. Scott here. Again. Those of you expecting to see Steve back from hiatus, might want to go ahead and bump your expectations down a notch.  He is still currently on a mission to find out the meaning of life and why his car insurance went up $36 last month. The last I heard, he was having a character breakfast with his family at the Three Broomsticks Restaurant at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. He has grown a beard and was last seen taking the battery out of his phone to avoid detection. So, while he is off the grid doing his best Brody from Homeland imitation, I will march on in his honor. Hump Day Thoughts on Sports and Stuff

by Scott Peterson

Hello everyone. Scott here.  Normally your good buddy Steve would be hard at work writing this column, but he threw his back out yesterday and is currently shackled to a recliner watching reruns of The Maury Povich Show. Okay, that’s a blatant lie.  Steve didn’t throw his back out, but between you and me, he has a man crush on Maury Povich. He contacted me late last night and said that he’s burnt out. He was going to pull a Dave Chapelle and just walk away.   He didn’t like the direction this weekly column was headed in and he promptly gave me a list of demands.  I won’t disclose the full list of demands but I will tell you that one of them was a request to “clear” Elmo’s good name and another was a grilled cheese sandwich with the crust removed. Anyhow, I gave Steve the week off and I will try to keep the music pumping, the beer flowing, the flux capacitor fluxxing, okay you get the point.  I will start off by apologizing for the title of this weekly article.  Why is it called hump day ? Isn’t that a tad assuming? What if you work on the weekends? In my humble opinion there is no such thing as hump day.  It’s not fair for the folks out there that have work retail or have Tuesday and Wednesday off. Now that I have that out-of-the-way, let me get a few things off my chest.  Sports, movies, entertainment news, any and all topics are on the table. Read the rest of this entry »
