Argo Review

09 Oct

Hey all – Steve here with your Argo review!

Is Argo a hit or should it be held hostage?

What would you expect from a movie that is directed by Ben Affleck and stars guys like Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and yes, Ben Affleck? Well you can expect a well written and well acted movie. The story is a good one. Even though this is a really serious story, there are enough laughs in this one to keep you on your toes.

I love Ben Affleck and I’m a big fan of Cranston, Goodman and the rest of the cast. This one involves the attempted rescue of six Americans who have found shelter amidst the Iranian revolution back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Argo is an intense movie that will have you on the edge of your seat and will make you think about what you would have done if you found yourself in the same situation. Iran has to be on your top 5 list of places not to go, right? I mean just the threat of violence alone should make you a little (or extremely) uneasy about making that trip.

There are some people who are just not into movies that are based on true stories. It amazes me how often people will complain about the ending of a true story. Umm hello! That is the way it happened in real life! Move on. Argo is no different, so if you do not know the real story of what happened, don’t google it or look it up some other way, just wait until you see it. Let yourself be surprised by the entire story.

Argo is a masterpiece that has both a great director and great actors. There should be nothing standing in your way of seeing this one.

Final Word – 4 Stars
