The 3D-CGI feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is an adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. — (C) Universal
The Lorax looks moderately entertaining. Is it me or are we getting bombarded with CGI 3D releases? I want to go to the movies and not have to wear glasses. At least until Titanic 3-D comes out!
The Hangover’s Todd Phillips produces this top-secret comedy from writers Matt Drake and Michael Bacall, with helming duties handled by commercial director Nima Nourizadeh. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
What is sure to be a hit with teenagers, Project X looks really annoying. Maybe I’m jumping the gun just a bit. Maybe I’m just getting old. Either way, the trailers for X just don’t tickle my pickle. Sorry for the cliche.
That’s all going wide this week. Next week we have John Carter which was once John Carter of Mars, another “family” film from Eddie Murphy called A Thousand Words. Pluto Nash anyone? What I’m really looking forward to is Silent House starring Elizabeth Olsen. Have a great week.
