Puss in Boots

Long before he even met Shrek, the notorious fighter, lover and outlaw Puss in Boots becomes a hero when he sets off on an adventure with the tough and street smart Kitty Softpaws and the mastermind Humpty Dumpty to save his town. This is the true story of The Cat, The Myth, The Legend… The Boots. — (C) Dreamworks/Paramount

Scott’s Take – 3 1/2 Stars

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed Puss in Boots. The Shrek spin off has some big laughs and is a perfect film for the whole family. This one is definitely worth the Blu-Ray purchase. Enjoy!

Tower Heist

Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy lead an all-star cast in Tower Heist, a comedy caper about working stiffs who seek revenge on the Wall Street swindler who stiffed them. After the workers at a luxury Central Park condominium discover the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement, they plot the ultimate revenge: a heist to reclaim what he took from them. — (C) Official Site

Scott’s Take – 2 1/2 Stars

I liked Tower Heist but I was a tad disappointed with the overall result because of all the talent involved. I recommend Tower Heist but don’t go in thinking it’s going to change your life. It’s like Ocean’s 11 but not as funny.

J. Edgar

J. Edgar explores the public and private life of one of the most powerful, controversial and enigmatic figures of the 20th century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life. — (C) Warner Bros

Scott’s Take

I didn’t get a chance to screen J. Edgar and to be completely honest, I’ve been underwhelmed by what I’ve heard. I know, it’s my job to formulate my own opinion, but there is something about DiCaprio’s make up that rubs me the wrong way. I will watch it this week and tweet out my thoughts. Oh yeah, shameless plug..follow us on twitter @CineSportsTalk.

Next Week

That’s all for this week. Next week we have Scorcese’s Oscar hopeful Hugo and Johnny English! Have a great week!
