New in Theaters – 2/17/12

16 Feb

Ghost Rider:Spirit of Vengeance

Nicolas Cage reprises his role as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance. In this gritty new vision for the character, directed by Neveldine/Taylor (Crank), Johnny is still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – but he may risk everything as he teams up with the leader of a group of rebel monks (Idris Elba) to save a young boy from the devil… and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. — (C) Sony

Scott’s Take

This looks like your customary Nicholas Cage cash grab. Early word on Ghost Rider is that it’s the early favorite for worst movie of 2012. With the world coming to an end, do you really want to waste your time on this trash? I didn’t think so.

This Means War

The world’s deadliest CIA operatives are inseparable partners and best friends until they fall for the same woman. Having once helped bring down entire enemy nations, they are now employing their incomparable skills and an endless array of high-tech gadgetry against their greatest nemesis ever – each other. — (C) Fox

Scott’s Take

This Means War looks pretty ridiculous. Although War has plenty of talent involved, stay away and save your money.

Next Week

That’s all we have going wide for this week. Your best bet is to catch in an Oscar nominated movie before Sunday. Next week we have Jennifer Aniston naked in Wanderlust. Act of Valor and Amanda Seyfried in Gone. Enjoy your week!
