I think we all have a special place in our hearts for penguins. They are cute, cuddly, and overall a lot of fun to watch. And for all of you getting ready to email me about the comment regarding the cuddle-bility of penguins – I’ve never cuddled with a penguin before. Bunch of weirdos. But I digress.
The movie is good and it really attempts to hit home on a couple of real life issues, like a father that does not want to let down his kids the way his father did, and his concerns about going way too corporate.
There is no question that if there is any actor that could pull off a movie like this, it is Jim Carrey. He is funny and at times, and most of the time, over the top. That is exactly what this movie needed. The penguins are awesome, funny, and adorable which will be a treat for the entire family. It makes you wonder how much said penguins were paid for this gig. However much it was, it wasn’t enough because they were great. CGI? What is CGI? Oh man, they weren’t real? That’s a real downer.
The bottom line for this movie is that it is a good one for the entire family. It really is for any age because once again, who doesn’t LOVE penguins? The story is a sappy one and you can really get the real life side of it. Aside from the penguins, the story is really something that could happen in everyday life, and with the comedy of Jim Carrey and the penguins it makes this one a “should see” for the summer.
Go out and enjoy it with the family!
