Ivan Nova? Who? Well he pitched 6 innings and did not allow a hit or a walk and struck out 4 for the Yankees. The Yankees, who have a less than stellar pitching rotation heading into the season, got a nice surprise from Nova, albeit in a spring training game. Nova now has a firm grip on the number 4 spot in the rotation and received a nice compliment from manager, Joe Girardi, when he referred to Nova’s performance as the best for the Yankees of the spring.
