The Arizona Diamondbacks have a young, talented nucleus that only figures to get better. As with any young team, you just don’t know what product you are going to get from night to night. The good news is the Dbacks improved their team batting average when they unloaded perennial strike out king extraordinaire Mark Reynolds. (Note: Mark Reynolds struck out 7 times as I typed this) The bad news is that strike out machines Chris Young and Justin Upton are vying for a shot at the title this year. Seriously though, Kelly Johnson, Young, and the enigma that is Upton have loads of talent. I really wanted to include Stephen Drew, but since his brother is J.D. Drew, I’m going to leave him and his brother on an island with no food or water. Ok sorry, the Red Sox fan in me reared his ugly head. Why Theo? Why 15 million a year for J. D.L. Drew? Focus. Oh yeah, Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dbacks have a young stud ace in the making in Daniel Hudson, who impressed with a 7-1 record with a 1.68 ERA in just 11 starts. It’s too bad that Joe Saunders, Ian Kennedy, Zach Duke, and Armando Gallaraga are in his foxhole. Look on the bright side, they only figure to make Hudson look better. Yup, 4th place it is…..
